Forvis Mazars secured the contract against a single competitor, SIS Consultants, with a bid of nearly 1.7 million dirhams, an amount virtually identical to the client’s estimated budget.
Broadly speaking, the selected firm will be tasked with compiling a detailed inventory of Moroccan artisanal products by sector and activity. The project covers 13 sectors encompassing 172 different activities.
Particular emphasis will be placed on pottery and stonework, traditional clothing, carpets, and basketry. For these categories, the Maison de l’Artisan is requesting an exhaustive identification process supported by detailed technical data sheets.
As part of the assignment, the contractor will conduct a literature review supplemented by interviews and focus groups involving 15 institutional stakeholders and 30 handicraft exporters.
Illustrated public information materials
The contractor must also produce a public information guide outlining the export process for artisanal products, with a focus on the specific features of the carpet, pottery and stonework, basketry, and traditional clothing sectors.
Designed to be accessible to a wide audience, the illustrated guide will be produced in Arabic, French, and English, with a total print run of 600 copies: 300 in Arabic, 200 in French, and 100 in English. The full database will also be made available online through the Maison de l’Artisan website.
In terms of staffing, the contractor will be required to mobilize a project manager holding a master’s degree, a senior consultant with a master’s degree, and two junior consultants with bachelor’s degrees.
