The international Arabian thoroughbred breeding circuit has been rocked for several seasons by a crisis, the signs of which are now beginning to surface. The unease stems from the use of methods deemed « unethical » by some owners of Arabian thoroughbreds located in Dubai.
This situation has been denounced by Moroccan breeders and stable owners, as reported by the news site sportbusiness.club (SBC). According to the publication, » a Moroccan source has spoken out on behalf of certain stables that denounce practices they consider contrary to sporting ethics and detrimental to deserving breeders, whose selection and preparation work is based on rigor and merit. »
These practices jeopardize « the nobility of a discipline based on the natural excellence of the horse and not on artifice,« emphasizes the breeder, who has announced the upcoming publication of new information on these behaviors.
This elite discipline aims to evaluate the beauty, presence, and pedigree of horses (colts, fillies, mares, and stallions). In addition to the world championships traditionally held in Paris, there is an international circuit of equestrian events held throughout the year, including the Emirate Arabian Horse Cup in Morocco, which aims to showcase African stables and breeders.
