With a contract valued at around 21 million dirhams, the Moroccan company led by Souhail Kabi has been tasked with designing and integrating an innovative solution for in-depth analysis and overall optimization of airport operations at Casablanca’s Mohammed V and Rabat-Salé airports, according to sources consulted by TelQuel.
The launch of this project is part of ONDA’s digital transformation strategy, as outlined in its three-year development plan “Envol 2025.” “Data management and value generation are crucial, as the various interconnected systems at an airport produce a multitude of data sources, the utilization of which can offer numerous benefits,” emphasizes ONDA.
Led by Adel El Fakir since July 3rd, the Office points out that airports are at the crossroads of major strategic challenges, combining operational performance, passenger experience, environmental sustainability, and economic profitability. “Aware of these challenges, ONDA is committed to an innovative approach aimed at transforming its operations and services. In this regard, the deployment of artificial intelligence (AI), supported by the power of big data, opens up a range of solutions to ensure optimal airport management”, the Office adds.
“Using various sources such as the AODB (Airport Operational Database), the RMS (Resource Management System), as well as data related to energy consumption, retail, and passenger journeys, the proposed solution will transform large datasets into actionable and strategic insights,” explains ONDA.
The solution will enable ONDA to optimize the use of gates, maximize revenue generation, streamline passenger flows, optimize staff management, reduce passenger wait times, and prevent missed connections…
The project also aims to enhance the quality of the overall experience for all, whether it be the airport’s operational teams or the passengers themselves. “The goal is to provide a platform where the data will not only be processed but also intelligently analyzed and utilized,” the same source highlights.
In simpler terms, the solution to be developed by the Casablanca-based company—operating also in Dubai, Paris, and soon Washington—will enable ONDA to optimize the use of gates, maximize revenue generation, streamline passenger flows, optimize staff management, reduce passenger wait times, and prevent missed connections, among other objectives. Additionally, ONDA intends to monetize the airports big data.
Binew Vision is required to deliver its solution within 22 months, followed by a maintenance period, technical support, and solution upgrades for one year, renewable annually by tacit agreement for a maximum duration of 3 years, according to the same sources.
